Reposting for the awake at this time crowd:
Tumblr, I have a scheme, and that is a nail polish exchange.
This would involve:
1. Thinking this sounds rad, wanting to participate, and intending to follow through.
2. Sending me a wishlist (you can talk colors, brands, or ask for a wildcard) and your address (for safety, I would like to have your real name, but I will use your Tumblr username alone unless you specify otherwise when I pass your info on). International participants are welcome, but if you can’t afford postage to nations other than your own, please let me know so I can keep that in mind when matching you up.
3. Receiving someone else’s wishlist and address.
4. Sending nail polish. The wishlist is more of a general guide, not a ‘you must send this.’
5. Receiving nail polish.
6. Enjoying.
If you want to participate, contact me (sesmithwrites at gmail, or via tumblr fanmail (not asks, please, because I don’t want to accidentally publish one)) by Friday, 10 August, noon PST.
Obligatory disclaimers: I won’t be sharing your address with anyone other than the person who will be sending you your nail polish. If your mailing address is the same as your physical address, please be aware that I can’t control for all the people involved. Some people are poopers and may not fulfill their end of the deal which means you could end up with no nail polish, which would be sad, but is also not under my control.
I don’t really dig multicolor Skittles manis on myself but the monochromatic ones do actually make me swoon.

How To Make Your Own Nail Polish - in any color!
- Use a butter knife to scrape eyeshadow out of it’s container (You can use old/cheap eyeshadow) and crush it up on a piece of paper so that it’s in a powder consistency
- Using a bottle of clear nail polish, roll your paper into the shape of a funnel and add the eyeshadow into the bottle. You might want to empty come of clear nail polish out before so it doesn’t overflow (or use nail polish that’s opened already)
- Use a toothpick to mix up the color into the bottle. Shake until all the powder is evenly distributed.
- Paint your nails!
Has anyone done this? Did it work?

Essie Shine of the TimesKonad plate m57
Konad Special Polish WhiteI had two math midterms last week, and as soon as I was done, I went straight to the mall to treat myself to a little somethin’. When I spotted the zebra knuckle ring, I KNEW I had to add it to my ring collection. ;) And of course, I did a matching manicure for the ring.
I love layering Essie’s Shine of the Times over dark, creme-finish polishes. The effect is incredible from various angles. You can see a swatch (layered over a black polish) of this beautiful flaky polish I posted a few months back here. This is definitely something you want to have handy in your polish collection for an instant eye-catching manicure. Get your own bottle here on Amazon!

Snowflake nails on Flickr.
Snowflake nails - black with a layer of blue glitter, then a snowflake stamp. I should have taken a picture of my previous nails - candy canes and peppermints. Ah well.
Cute!!! Is the stamp Konad?

UNFFF
!!!!
I seriously need to figure out where to buy OPI around here ‘cause I’m always lusting after these colors I’m seeing on tumblr. At least I’m not wanting for Essie colors (thank you Target). Trying a new one right now that I bought yesterday. Yeah, femme self-care!
Oooh, is this out yet?
Ring fingers are four coats of glitter each. For some reason, Fresh Frog of Bel Air gives better coverage than Gettin’ Miss Piggy With It—I think it’s that the latter has chunky red glitter along with the small red glitter, and it actually thins out the coverage you get. Both have a small amount of chunky silver glitter, but all the green glitter in Fresh Frog of Bel Air is small, and that actually ends up giving a much more uniform color when you layer it.
Thumbs are three coats of the glitter with a coat of Sally Hansen Crackle in Antique Gold on top. I don’t know if it’s just that metallic crackles work better, but I like this one better than OPI Black Shatter or the Sephora OPI turquoise crackle polish.
Other fingers are Revlon Gold Coin (very thinly applied) with two coats of glitter over that.
Top coat is Seche Vite.
Gorgeous!
