Actually salt can be quite harmful. If you overingest sodium it unbalances your potassium levels in the blood stream. This causes electrolytes to be unstable and harms the blood pressure. High sodium intakes can damage anyone regardless of genetics.

Okay, so I’ve been on PubMed for an hour, and I cannot find any actual evidence that raw fish is a particularly risky food for pregnancy. It’s not likely to be contaminated with listeria, and flash freezing (which is required for sushi-grade fish by the USDA) kills parasites.
